Hello Year 2!
We have a super hot chilli challenge for you.
We have lost some of the numbers from our sentence below.
How many different ways can you solve it?
This week we want you to explore the Great fire of London. Think about what the houses were made of. What happened to the people living there. What they did after or before. How did they feel? Could you write a story? Draw a picture? Or both. Could you print out pictures and stick them in? Or could you even write a newspaper article.
We can’t wait to see what you come up with!
A couple of parents have been a little unsure of what our new homework books should look like.
We want it to be fun and inspiring and something the children are excited about completing. We will set a task every week but it is completly up to the children as to where they take this task. It can be pictures with labels, writing, maths. You can print things out, stick things in, take pictures The posssibilities are endless. We ask that every week the children try to include writing and maths into their homework.
Below is a couple of examples for you to have a look at.
Within our topic “Wish you were here” we are going to be looking at the fire of London. As part of our design technology we will be building our own model London. Please could children bring into school cardboard boxes (cereal boxes, shoe boxes etc) to build there London town house with. Thank you from all the year 2 teachers.
As a school we have changed the way we send homework. Each child now has a red homework book to complete a question that is decided as a class. This means that sometimes 2LT, 2CP and 2LG might have slightly different homework questions. We are looking forward to seeing your new creative homework’s this week!!!
We have a fantastic link to share with you all!
This website is accessible at home where you will be able listen, read and watch books online. There are also lots of fun and educational activities to complete which are linked to the story. There are also lots of books that link to our topic 🙂
